Tereza Schmidtová: How to introduce plasma as a state of matter to students? 

In everyday life, we do not encounter plasma very often. Therefore, it isn't easy to introduce plasmas without a deeper understanding of the underlying physics and many specialized words. Nevertheless, it is important not to neglect plasma as a state of matter in teaching. In this talk, we will discuss why and how to introduce plasma to students. You will learn why physicists prefer to avoid referring to flame as plasma and are reluctant to speak about plasma as the fourth state of matter.

The lecture is scheduled on Thursday, April 11, at 5 PM in room F2 at Kotlářská. Traditionally, we will start with an introductory coffee, and the actual lecture will start at about 5.15 pm. At the same time, we will be streaming it online.
